Note: “This
post is a part of #UseYourAnd
activity at BlogAdda in association with
Gillette Venus“. The
below poem is for the theme, “Things That Define Me.”
I know where, I belong.
It is not just with the kids or in the kitchen,
But beyond the ‘set’ visions.
I am a woman, I am strong;
I know what I want.
It is my family’s smiles,
And soaring high in corporate skies.
I am a woman, I am strong
I can get things how I want.
It is not begging someone about my rights
Nor pleasuring anyone for my heights.
I am a woman, I am strong
I know how to achieve my success.
It lies in hard work and passion,
But, without compromising my family time.
I am a woman, I am strong
I am free to do my will
Yet, filled with concern for everyone.
I am woman, I am strong
I keep going when everything is wrong.
I cry at night and pretend happy in morning
Still, manage the dual responsibilities.
I am a woman, I am strong
I know how to get along
Whether it is my family, in-laws, or friend
I have time for everyone at my hand.
I am a woman, I am strong
I can be a daughter, sister and a friend
With it, I can be someone’s love,
And someone’s daughter-in-law, sister-in-law, wife and a
mother.
I know how to carry my pride along.
In return, of love, I have ample love to provide
But, in moment of injustice, I am tough one to fight!
I am a woman, I am strong
Just do not take me granted!
I may be doings a minute,
The next, I may be gone with the wind.
I am a woman, I am strong
But above it all-
I am a human being just like you
Learn to respect my dreams and me.
I am human being, just like you
Vouching to be treated equally,
Is it too much to ask?
