True Warrior

[Today’s Satori’s session was on Ekphrasis, where we were asked to write any form of literature based on the various pictures there. My first instant reaction was - HOW?? Because for me, poem has always been a strike from inside, a flow that comes automatically. But I tired and after using lot of time and editing it; I managed it. J   So, this poem is based on a picture of a warrior on horse; swinging his sword and galloping fast on his horse. The reason I provided you all the imagery, so that you are aware of its base. Happy reading.]

Waving his sword,
He rushes through grasses.
Trespassing the winds,
Every hurdle; he crosses.

He has to conquer the enemy
Before it wreaks a wreath
Already, a lot of time has flown by,
Keeping his people waiting with bated breath.

Registering a victory,
In his name
He has to return back,
‘Coz for him awaits fame.

Eyes filled with hope,
To see his people safe
Heart beaming with happiness
As he nears his place.

People welcome him with trumpets
As he returns clearing the barrier
They crown him as their leader,
Because he is a true warrior.

P.S.  this poem would not have been complete without my dad’s help. He is the main editor of this poem and a big thanks to him. Also thanks to Ranjani and all Satorians, for making it happen. For coming up with something like this and providing all new writer a platform.
